About kevinschmitz

Kevin Michael Schmitz is an advertising, celebrity and editorial fashion photographer represented in New York by Mike Mendelsohn and Antonio Adriao at AAREPS. Published in over 25 national and international magazine editorials in the last few years, Kevin Michael travels the world photographing for a wide range of commercial and editorial clients, as well as documentary and fine art special projects. After graduating with a bachelors degree in photography, he pursued his Masters of Fine Arts in Photography at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. In early 2009,Kevin Michael traveled to Israel to photograph a documentary during the Gaza War. Photographing and interviewing soldiers and civilians on both sides of the conlfict, his imagery and editorial story was published internationally exposing the truth behind the conflict as well as personal stories from the front lines. In addition to his commercial work, Kevin Michael is the director and instructor of the "Location Lighting Fashion Photography Workshop Series" sponsored by ProFoto & Samys Camera. He guest lectures at universities, workshops, seminars and art schools around the United States and will begin teaching as a professor of photography at Cal State LA in 2011. He was honored in 2009 as “The Distinguished Young Alumni of the Year”, at his alma mater.
